I have often looked between the trees and found myself wondering what lie beyond the thickets and beyond the shadows. A beautiful canopy? A babbling stream? A sunlit meadow? All and any for my eyes only. A place of rest. When making this piece, I pushed to convey a sense of longing for escape-- the longing to be both alone and free.
After 4 hours of under-painting and 8 hours of painstaking detail work, I'm proud to offer you the opportunity to own that sense of blissful solitude, captured in an intimately sized 4"x4" stretched canvas, gesso-primed and semi-gloss varnished to ensure you receive the highest quality offered.
